Star Trek Voyager/"Workforce, Parts 1 & 2" (2001, TV series) - Jaffen.  Voyager's crew is kidnapped, brainwashed and forced to work in an alien power plant.  Read plays "Jaffen", an alien who becomes romantically involved with Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) and helps Voyager's crew to escape.

Touched By An Angel/"Millennium" (2000, TV series) - Nick.  This episode revolves around a woman (Ann Margaret) whose boyfriend's (Read) intention to propose marriage on New Year's Eve forces her to resolve her troubled past.
 
Profiler/"Las Brisas" (1999, TV series) - James Lofton.  Young women working in a maquiladora factor on the border are turning up dead.  James plays the sleazy factor owner.

Diagnosis Murder/"Open and Shut" (1997, TV series) - Judge David McReynolds.  A college freshman with a secret lover (Read) is found murdered in a hotel room.
 
The Cape/"Just Like Old Times" (1997, TV series) - Jeff Mason.  A fast-talking manufacturer's rep (Read) is sent to the space center to cover up the fact that his company is behind schedule.
 
Danielle Steele's Full Circle (1996, TV movie) - Judge Carver.  A woman, traumatized by rape, learns to trust and love again while working as a prosecutor.  James plays the judge with whom she eventually finds happiness.
 
Harvest of Fire (1996, movie rated PG) - Scott.  An arsonist is terrorizing an Amish community and the pursuing FBI agent (Lolita Davidovich) must decide between her career or her relationship with her boyfriend (Read).
 
Home Improvement/"At Sea" (1996, TV series) - Captain Jenkins.  In their Tool Time Salute to Engines, Tim and Al visit the USS Constellation and are escorted around the ship by its captain (Read).
 
Lois & Clark: New Adventures of Superman/"Dad Who Came In From The Cold" (1996, TV series) - Jack Olsen.  Lois & Clark help Jimmy Olsen and his secret agent father (Read) track down a computer diskette and save the world.
 
The Other Woman (1995, TV movie) - Michael Bryan.  A woman dying of cancer (Jill Eikenberry) tries to get her two daughters to accept the new wife of her ex-husband (Read).
 
When the Dark Man Calls (1995, TV movie) - Lt. Michael Leiberman.  A radio talk show host (Joan Van Ark) is stalked by the man who killed her parents when she was a child.  James plays the police detective who investigates the case and begins an affair with the talk show host.

Love Crimes (1991, movie rate R) - Stanton Grey.  A district attorney (Sean Young) tracks a man (Patrick Bergin) who seduces then abuses women by catering to their submissive fantasies.  James plays Young's boss and married lover.

Web of Deceit (1990, TV movie) - Paul Evanston.  A San Francisco lawyer (Linda Purl) returns to her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia to defend a murder suspect.  But her investigation is complicated when an old lover - who is also the prosecutor (Read) - rekindles their relationship.
